Hugh Osmond

Hugh is one of the UK’s most prominent entrepreneurs with a track record of more than 25 years. Hugh co-led the acquisition of Pizza Express, which became the UK’s largest quoted restaurant group, increasing the company’s value more than twenty-fold over the period that he was on the board.

Hugh was Chairman of Punch Group PLC and led the consolidation of the UK pub industry, overseeing multiple acquisitions of some 8,000 pubs for more than £3.5 billion.

He was Chairman of Pearl Group and led more than £6 billion of acquisitions of life insurance assets, creating the largest life and pensions consolidator in Europe, now listed in the FTSE 100 Index as Phoenix Group PLC.

Hugh founded the restaurant group Various Eateries PLC in 2015 and floated it on AIM in 2020. Most recently Hugh raised over $300m on NYSE through a SPAC which merged with Vertical Aerospace in 2021.

Marc has over 25 years’ experience investing in a wide range of sectors including leisure, financial services and real estate, often at times when that particular sector is going through change or upheaval.  He has held several operational roles in the underlying businesses, including Executive Chairman of Punch Taverns prior to its IPO and Chairman of the Assets/Liabilities Management Committee of Pearl Group (now Phoenix Group Holdings PLC).

Marc led the acquisition of Center Parcs and the sale and leaseback of Santander’s retail branch network in Spain.

In 2020 Marc raised over $300m on NYSE through a SPAC which merged with Vertical Aerospace in 2021.

Most recently Marc co-founded Hillcrest and raised £250m to invest in UK real estate.

Ed has over 20 years’ experience of investing with his partners in a range of investments including leisure, financial services, and housebuilding.  He was an Executive Director of Phoenix Group (previously Pearl Group), growing it organically and via acquisition & reversing it in to US SPAC Liberty Acquisitions, building it to be a business with 14m customers.

Ed led the acquisition of Keepmoat which is now a top ten UK housebuilder and is a founding shareholder of ilke Homes, the UK’s largest modular home builder.

In 2020 Ed raised over $300m on NYSE through a SPAC which merged with Vertical Aerospace in 2021.  In 2022 he co-led the acquisition of Go Ape USA, the dominant player in the treetop adventure and zipline sector in the USA.

Ed started his career at Bain & Company. He has over 20 years’ experience investing in a wide range of companies and industries. Ed oversaw the £500 million business process outsourcing transaction for Pearl Group with Tata Consultancy Services in 2005 which transformed the business. Most recently, he has overseen SCP’s investment into Abacai Group, a personal line insurance technology business.

Marcus started his career as a consultant with Bain & Co and Arthur D. Little. In 2003 he co-founded and was CEO at Firefly Drinks, including leading the sale to Langholm Capital in 2014. In 2008 Marcus was a founder investor and board member of Portman Dental, one of Europe’s fastest growing private dental groups.  Marcus joined Sun Capital as partner in 2019 and co-founded BSL, a company set up to invest in the luxury assisted living sector in the UK.

In 2021 co-led the merger of Broadstone Acquisition Corp with Vertical Aerospace.

Most recently, Marcus co-founded Hillcrest.

Jamie Mount

Jamie has over 17 years’ experience and is a qualified Chartered Surveyor. He joined Sun Capital in 2010 and has focussed on real estate investments including Uro Property Holdings, Keepmoat and ilke. He also founded RDF, a UK residential development lender, in 2013 and co-founded BSL in 2019 which invests in luxury assisted living space in the UK.

Jamie worked on raising over $300m on NYSE through a SPAC and its merger with Vertical Aerospace in 2021. In 2022 he co-led the acquisition of Go Ape USA, the dominant player in the treetop adventure and zipline sector in the USA.

Most recently, Jamie co-founded Hillcrest.

Tiffany joined Sun Capital in 2013 and worked initially on the acquisition of the Strada restaurant estate out of administration in 2014. She launched Coppa Club, a new all day restaurant concept in 2015 and was operational in making it fit for expansion. More recently she led the IPO of the wider restaurant group, Various Eateries PLC, listing it on AIM in September 2020 and raising £25m growth capital. Tiffany also led the acquisition of Capital Physio, now Bodyset, a group of UK high-street physio studios in preparation for roll-out.

Most recently Tiffany worked on raising over $300m on NYSE through a SPAC and its merger with Vertical Aerospace.

Caspar joined Sun Capital in 2019 and has focused on insurance investments and, in particular, the Abacai Group, a personal lines insurance technology business.  Prior to joining, he was an investment banker focused on principal investments and corporate finance at Dresdner Kleinwort and QInvest.

Arnis joined the finance team at Sun Capital Partners in 2018 and having worked on multiple projects since his arrival, including Elysian, Uro and Ilke Homes, he has subsequently been promoted to the role of Finance Director.

Zoe has been working with the partners at Sun Capital since it was founded in 2001. Zoe graduated from the University of Surrey with a BSc in Hospitality Management.

Oliver Maslen

Oliver joined Sun Capital in 2022, covering private and public opportunities, as well as real estate investments under Hillcrest PERE.

He has over 5 years’ experience, most recently joining from EY where he started his career covering banks and financial institutions.

He is a qualified chartered accountant and studied at Edinburgh University.

Blake joined Sun Capital in 2023, and has been primarily focused on real estate investments including BSL and Hillcrest PERE. He started his career at the principal investment arm of Legal & General Group, where he covered direct and indirect property investments in the UK and North America. Blake is a qualified Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and studied at University of Bristol.
